In search of magic, Funscreen opened a portal to another world, and they’ve returned with a treasure trove of stories to sing. Always performing adorned in enchanted silks and armor from lands far away, these minstrels devote their talents to telling the story of Connor Breeden, an ordinary young lad with an extraordinary fate. Their sound spans from fuzzed-out stoner metal to peaceful psychedelic bliss as Connor’s journey dances between epic battles with demons and bathing in fountains of healing. Audience members become adventurers, shows become quests, and songs become legends of lore. Funscreen restores a little more magic back to our world with every new adventure, and things are just beginning.
Funscreen has enchanted audiences with their magic across nearly one hundred shows across the Colorado Front Range, telling the legend of Connor at bars and DIY spaces, Colorado festivals like FoCoMX and Psychs Peak, and rennaissance faires. But, the magic can’t remain contained within the borders of Colorado for much longer. Having provided support for national and international acts like Daikaiju and Minami Deutsch, the band has set their gaze on to a much broader stage. With new horizons in focus, fans can expect Funscreen to open astral portals and summon dragons in major cities across the Western US in 2026 and 2027.
Their sophomore album weaved together a mindbending fantasy quest. Now, the trio finds themselves exploring the seedy underbelly of their ever-evolving universe in the next chapter. Sounding like something out of a psychedelic jazz lounge, their upcoming record No Ace takes a step away from tabletop fantasy and towards film noir. With tales of mobsters, casinos, and addiction, the villains of their third record kill quietly and discreetly. As the band’s sound (and Connor’s story) expands in new directions, it becomes clear that the world of Funscreen is much larger and stranger than meets the eye.
